Throughout the country traffic is obstructed due to snow.
Recommended: Do not start the journey without the winter equipment! If possible, postpone it!
For freight vehicles with a trailer there are currently no free roads connecting the interior with the northern and southern coastal area.

Due to very strong wind and snow all traffic is suspended on the:
- A1 motorway between Sveti Rok and Posedarje junctions,
- A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway between Delnice and Kikovica junctions,
- D8 Adriatic road from Senj to Sveta Marija Magdalena,
- bridge in Dubrovnik,
- D1 Udbina-Gračac-Knin, D25 Gospić-Karlobag, D39 Aržano border crossing-Cista Provo, D52 Špilnik-Korenica, D54 Maslenica-Zaton Obrovački, D59 Knin-Kistanje-Kapela, D218 Brotnja-Sučević, D506 Dobroselo-Mazin and D523 Šmrika-Križišće state roads.

Only passenger vehicles proceed freely:
- on the part of the D8 Bakar-Senj,
- on Pag bridge,
- on the ŽC Bjelopolje-Donji Lapac regional road.

On Rijeka detour road Orehovica-Rujevica there is a traffic ban on: freight vehicles heavier than 3,5 tonnes, vans, trailers, buses and motorcycles.
On Krk bridge traffic is closed for: doubledeckers, trailers and motorcycles.

Due to winter driving conditions there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles with a trailer and all other vehicles have to use the winter equipment on the following roads of

Difficulties are expected in roadwork areas.

Till 8 February 8am-5pm traffic is occasionally closed on the section of the D8 Adriatic road Poličnik-Islam Latinski. Detour: Zadar-Murvica-Zemunik Donji-Smilčić-Islam Latinski-D8 or the A1 motorway Zadar Istok junction.

Roadworks in progress:
- on the section of the D1 state road Gubaševo-Mokrice junction - traffic is closed due to roadworks at Mokrice bridge near Zabok till 2 March 2012, detour: A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway;
- on the D22 Novi Marof-Sudovec state road - all traffic is closed, detour: Breznica-Visoko-Sudovec;
- on the D3 state road between Novi Marof and Turčin;
- on Zagreb detour road (A3) between Buzin and Kosnica junctions - driving speed has to be reduced to 80 km/h due to roadworks at Jakuševec junction;
- on the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway at Kutinica bridge (105th km) - the driving speed has to be set at 60 km/h;
- on the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway at Nova Zelina bridge in both directions, till 1 March 2012;
- on the A1 Zagreb-Split/Vrgorac motorway 134th-136th km in direction Split, at the 201th km in both directions;
- on the road Fužine-Lič-Novi Vinodolski - all traffic is closed;
- on the D523 state road Križišće-junction for Kraljevica - all traffic is suspended due to road damages, detour: D501 Križišće-Jadranovo;
- in Istria on the D303 Rovinj-Rovinjsko Selo state road - traffic flows alternatly and the driving speed has to be set at 50 km/h till 20 February;
- on Mali Lošinj island;
- on Rab island - ŽC 5139 regional road through the place Banjol (part Petrac) closed for traffic - detour: through Santa Lucija;
- on the part of the D1 Knin-Sinj state road between Knin and Biskupija - all traffic is allowed there, but occasionally it is regulated by traffic lights;
- on the D33 state road at Knin till 31 March;
- on the D8 Adriatic road on Šibenik bridge - traffic proceeds over one lane only;
- on the D116 state road from Hvar towards Stari Grad on Hvar island;
- on the D513 Mali Prolog-Ploče at the place Puljani;
- on the D8 Adriatic road at the entrance of Dubrovnik in direction Cavtat.

Tisno bridge on Murter island (D121 state road) closes for traffic for 30 minutes every day at 9am till 15 May 2012.

On wet and slippery roads it is recommended to:
1. Check the tyres and windscreen wipers
2. Turn on the headlights despite the good visibility
3. Reduce the driving speed
4. Keep distance
5. Avoid to brake suddenly
6. Drive more carefully.

The headlights have to be on during the day as well. Expect rock and land sliding on the D8 Adriatic road and in the mountain regions!

At Demerje paytoll (4 km before Zagreb) on the A1/A6 motorway Jastrebarsko-Zagreb the toll can be paid using the ENC device or credit cards. At Lučko paytoll it can be paid with cash only.
